Insight
Sounds that feel “natural” often balance external forces with subtle human intervention. By treating environmental data as a behavioral influence rather than a strict controller, and pairing it with simple tactile adjustments, sound can remain dynamic without becoming chaotic.
Solution
Environment-Driven Sound Behavior
Live wind speed data from a weather API controls the playback intensity and timing of chime sounds. Stronger winds result in denser and louder chime activity, while calmer conditions produce slower, lighter playback.

Tactile User Control
Physical knobs allow users to fine-tune the system’s behavior. One knob controls overall volume to maintain listening comfort, another adjusts the base playback interval to prevent excessive repetition, and a third introduces controlled randomness to vary timing and dynamics.
Physical Design & Placement
The device is housed in a compact enclosure designed for indoor use. PVC suction cups on the back allow it to be mounted on vertical surfaces such as walls or windows, reinforcing its relationship to outdoor environmental conditions.
